Dear Anna & Jack,
Thank you for your wonderful welcome, your thoughtful suggestions of places to go. Casa Anna is a lovely place to stay. We enjoyed the outdoor area and the very comfortable beds particularly. The restaurants we ate at in the area were all very good, as was the wine, that we also enjoyed every day for lunch and dinner.
Your suggestion of Cascina Zenevrea in Ponzano Monferrato was much appreciated. We enjoyed dinner there on Saturday and Friday night, enjoying the walk there and the downhill home back. The antica Torre trattoria in Barbaresco also was very good for lunch. We will let our friends in Australia know what a lovely place Piedmonte is and pass your details to them. Hopefully you will see more Australians coming to enjoy this lovely part of Italy.

Casa Anna has been a wonderful homebase for our food and wine expeditions here in Piemonte. The house is lovely and comfortable. Each day of our travels ended with wine, cheese and breadsticks underneath the kiwi vines, the sound of church bells and occasionally the clippity-clap of horse hooves. We visited La Canova and found their wines to be outstanding, so much thanks for the tip! We are already talking about a return trip.

Unsere erste Woche in Piemont ging viel zu schnell zu Ende. Der Abschied füllt uns deshalb so schwer, weil…

…die Unterkunft so komfortabel und gemütlich war,
…die Landschaft so abwechslungsam reich ist
…wir dank eurer Anleitung die besten Weingüter gefunden haben,
…Städte wie Moncalvo, Alba und Casale schätzen gelernt haben
…und einem wunderschönen Abend mit euch beiden verbringen dürften.

We’ve had a lovely and relaxing week here in Piemonte, exploring the “neighbourhood”and winetasting at Tenuta Tenaglia, daytrips to the medieval festival in Alba and Jacks suggested wineries and unbelievable lunches at da Gemma in Roddino and Boccadivino in Bra, both highly recommended to future guests!
The house was a perfect homebase for our drives in Piemonte and a lovely setting for breakfasts and lunches on the terrace. We were lucky to have such a beautiful weather in late October! Thank you both for all of the wonderful recommendations and being such gracious hosts, we had a wonderful time!

We had a lovely week at Casa Anna. The house is very well equipped and very comfortable, a bit big for just the two of us! We loved the variety of the surrounding countryside and even spotted some of the new olive trees! We enjoyed the big market on Wednesday in Asti and a train trip tot Turin. Moncalvo is a lovely little town although didn’t get to the Enoteca because it only opens at the weekend.

All in all a lovely holiday!
